But you can fish as a resident very good without a boat, I caught 25 or so my first year without a boat, just takes time and tide. Rod and reel is pretty easy too, just have to know how to "flip" or they also call it "flossing". Some places you can snag sockeye and coho and pink. It allr really depends where you are.
