Hardest or Hard Day Hikes in the Lower 48

No.2607537 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
trailfag here, what are the hardest day hikes (done in less than 24 hours) that exist within the contiguous US. Obviously some of these are easier than others and won't take the title of hardest. I'm building a list to do because permits are cringe, and I've done some of these. List should include hikes that have a cool purpose (not just a bunch of retarded stuff added together) and are non-roped, but can be varying elevation gain or distance depending on difficulty or terrain or altitude. Also offtrailed hikes and climbs are welcome. Would really like stuff in the South East cuz I'm living there soon. Try not to include shit that is just parts of the PCT/CDT/AT (NEU8 includes a few of these but they are cool hikes over ranges and stuff).

Include links to maps/routes and descriptions for your recommendations if possible
