Parks SUCK for out compared to NF (which can be 10 times larger than the biggest parks with 1/10th the people), first off. Second off they SUCK even worse to work in, because 90% of the tourists stay in the same top 10% of the trails and rec sites meaning all the rangers (literally 9 out of 10) are on babysitting and policing duty all day long. The interaction ratio in parks is astronomically higher than in say, western national forests. Imagine 1 ranger per 20k visitors or more.
