Idiots in the backcountry

No.2608147 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Went on an overnight backpacking trip this weekend and made it to camp at around 6 pm. At midnight I was woken by a group of hikers just getting into camp. Mind you that the campsite was maybe 10 miles from the trailhead. When I talked to the group the next morning, they told me that they got lost for 10 miles/5 hours following the wrong creek bed. I could hardly believe my ears because this is a fairly established backcountry hike and it’s extremely difficult to lose track of the trail. And then he told me they don’t know if they’ll finish the hike that day (only another ~12 miles) because “I’ll have to see how my friends feel”. The last straw was when I tried to tell them about the water situation the direction they were going (they were heading the way we came) and he said they had plenty of water. Sure man, hope I don’t I see on the news later.

I wish retards like these just stick to the pavement but at least it makes for a funny story.
