Spring was always the time when we’d go out with crawfish nets. When I was a teenager we found a really good spot that produced a ton of crawfish one year. We had like two sacks (about 70lbs total) before lunch time. That enough for about 20 people. Fun times. We went back the following year and got nothing. It’s just how it is.
That was years ago, but just for comparison I paid like $80 for a sack earlier this year.
