Recently I went out to a National forest service forest and a lot of the lots had a "no overnight parking" sign on them. The lots that didn't had posters on the boards reading "camping permitted only on market campgrounds and at dispersed camping areas" and "activity only permitted from 6am to 10Pm daily".
I don't mind paying the forest service to maintain a parking lot or to maintain a campground, but I also don't want to be a boomerfag who brings a $150k lifted weatherized truck just to park it a marked ground and never go more than 200 feet deep into the forest. I guess what I am saying is I desire to do some backcountry camping, so how would I know where I can leave my car overnight in a national forest without returning to a ticket or a ticked off ranger?
Thanks bros. This really wasn't an issue when I didn't have a car and just went wherever but now that I am moving up the fiscal ladder and exploring more, I have to face this stuff whenever I go overnight at a site.
