I did this a lot growing up when I couldn't sleep and now I do it with driving aswell. I'll go somewhere far away then start hiking and explore, just walk until I start getting tired and turn back

Yes all the time, unfortunately I live in a large city so it's difficult. Sometimes I do like to take a wander, longest was 20km over the course of a day, that was fun and random, but there aren't many wild places in my city.

every waking second, its hard though here because almost everywhere is large corporate farms who will call out the police if they even suspect anyone is on ""their"" private land and sadly they have all the power since overproducing grain and legumes that we end up giving away to african warlords is apparently a respectable thing that politicians will do anything to preserve

I do this all the time. most of my hikes are me deciding "screw it I'll drive" and just going to a place where I can pull off, hike a few hours, and then go home.

Walking aimlessly in a big city is also fun, you can go all out and then easily take a bus back home.
If you walk out of the city the light of it will lead you back home, impossible to get lost.
