>>261242Agree with basically everything, but there is one major caveat.
Most people who don't live in the country (And even a ton of those who do) do not have what most of the /out/ crowd would consider "basic" or "necessity". So a few of the times you ask "Who doesn't have XYZ?" I can definitely think of a couple of guys I know who don't..
Next time you're with some friends (if you have any) who aren't really practical folks, do a quick survey-
1- How many of you own a screw driver? Hammer? What about an entire tool kit? Can you actually USE these things?
2- Garden tools? Could you plant your yard if you wanted to?
3- Is there a SINGLE fire extinguisher in the entire property? What about your car?
4- Speaking of your car, can you actually fix things? What about routine maintenance like fluids and battery changes?
I know that's a very, very basic list of a skillset, but you'd be horrified at how many people would answer along the lines of-
1- "Uhh, I've got a swiss army knife around here somewhere" *Diggs around between couch cushions*
2- "Do what to my yard? I don't even own an ice scraper for my car, let alone a shovel and ho..."
3- "Errm, there is a bucket around here somewhere that I could fill with water"
4- *Proudly presents a triple-A card*
People from urban areas are even worse, also generally the younger you are the worse off as well.
