>>261432>can't brew liquor It's a taxation thing. See, you CAN make moonshine all day long, but you can't sell it without a federal liquor distillers license, which is a whole lot different then a run-of-the-mill brewers license, and home brewing has special laws surrounding it etc etc.
So, Moonshine is not Illegal, the way people make it is. (Without a permit that allows them to be taxed) Basically, when all is said and done, the permit system makes it non-profitable to have a still.
