>>2615383The heat index in northern AR last week was 114F. I've been watching the pressure line maps closely and the usual monsoon jetstream is locked (I mean locked, it has been there for 3 months without moving) about 6-9 degrees father north than normal. This is why parts of the east are getting record flooding and rainfall and the lower southwest is getting record heat and drought and why places like N AR are hitting 110-115F heat indexes. The main high pressure zone is dead over Arizona right now but will be moving east and north over S CO and NM next week. There is a chance that when it does move it will pull some strand of the jetstream moisture into cyclone like swirl centered around it, sending rain to W TX, S NM, all of AZ, S UT, and W CO. This time in both 21 and 22 the entire southwest was getting record rain and flooding.
