How warm are fingerless gloves comapred to a full finger glove of the same material?

Ok for working or when you need to use your fingers and prevent sweating at the same time. Your finger tips will be just as cold as they are without gloves unless you use them to work or do something.

I have a pair of patagonia "better sweater fleece gloves". warm like mittens and then you can fold them back to be fingerless gloves(excluding the thumb). very useful to take hunting in winter.

your fingertips still freeze
i wear thin liner gloves under thick fingerless gloves in the winter when i need dexterity its a good combo
the flip up mitten deal is even better but nobody makes them out of high end wools

Fingertips become cold obviously. I like them for things that require fine manipulation, but otherwise full gloves are better. The fingerless gloves with detachable mittens seem good, but I've never used them.

I love them for things like fishing, when you have tie small knots. Obviously your hands will get cold eventually but better than taking your gloves on and off constantly.

Indispensible when taking my camera gear /out/ but only down to 5C or so. When it's actually freezing out, you need more to prevent sticking to stuff, etc.
I did one shoot where I had my cheap fingerless gloves but the temps went subzero unexpectedly. I spent a lot of time with my hands in my pockets and even more time complaining.
