Reposting from the mountaineering and Spain and non-USA threads because I didn't see this thread:
1. Any fellow Eastern Yuropoors here? How's the /out/ situation in your cunt? Here in Shithuania it's pretty shit - flat and boring terrain, no good trails, shitty swampy forests with an ungodly amount of insects, and psychopathic drunkards/tweakers hiding everywhere
2.I'm looking for a mountain recommendation in or near Europe.
Basically, the first mountain I ever went up was Olympus in Greece, and it was great. Had a nice bit of walking up, and then a great bit of scrambling to the Mytikas peak, really enjoyed that especially. After the mountain you go chill by the at its foot. Since then, I've only been up some random mountains in Poland and Switzerland. They were good as well, but not as satisfactory. They weren't as tall and they didn't have so much scrambling. Scrambling I enjoy especially - if a mountain would be all scrambling and no hiking, that'd be just fine by me. So I'm looking for a recommendation to scratch the Olympus itch. Nothing crazy as I'm still a beginner, and I'll probably be going alone. Big bonus if it's by the sea like Olympus was. I'm based in the Baltics by the way, no mountains here unfortunately.
3. Have any of you climbed Mulhacen or the mountains near Barcelona? How was it? Are Spanish camping laws really so strict - you can't even camp on a mountain overnight?
As for what country is the best I'm not sure, Switzerland is pretty good because top tier mountains and proximity to Mediterranean as well as being very safe and free, but in terms of worst it's gotta be the Baltics for sure
