>>2634972I wrap mine in one of those clear, see-trough grocery store cellophane bags. You know, the kind that you use to bag fruits and shit at the food section of your supermarket. Not the hard, crinkly type of plastic, but the soft, supple kind that's slightly elastic and doesn't immediately tear when you stress it.
Wrap your Zippo into one of those tightly, so that you get a nice, airtight bundle that doesn't let the vapors escape so easily. I've been doing this for years now, and always manage to get a month's worth of operation time per top up from my Zippo this way. Of course, if you frequently need to use it, it's always a bit of a hassle to unwrap it from the baggy. But on the plus side, the cellophane wrap also makes the Zippo highly water resistant, should you need to operate in damp conditions. It's a world of choices, my friend.
Yeah, Zippos leak, that makes them kinda challenging to use. These days I only use mine when I know for certain that I'm going to light shit up more frequently, usually during the winter months, when I frequently operate the fireplace. Between refills, I stick to using an Iroda brand butane torch (model AT-2056 if you're interested), or just good old fashioned stick matches, which still, in the 2020's have their place. I've come to realize that the perfect lighter doesn't exist.
I should also point out that re-packing the fuel tank cotton balls and making sure that the wick zig-zags trough them helps a bit with fuel efficiency.
