I usually shoot rattlers in the head with a .22
One day I had my .40 S&W on my hip so I used that.
Got it right at the base of the skull.
You know how rattlesnakes keep moving hours after you've cut off the head? This one went limp instantly and never flinched afterwards.
Only time I've ever had that happen.
The way I figure it is that's evidence that "hydro static shock" is real.
