What's a good full trail for a relative newbie?
I haven't ever done a thru-hike, and would like to attempt (starting) a shorter one in early September. My only requirements are that I can get to the start and from the end via train or plane, and that it's in the US. Is there anywhere with good enough weather for doing so that late in the year?
My background: I've done mostly one/two day camps over weekends, but I'm relatively knowledgeable on how to prepare. The only materials I believe I'd need would be a long rifle (if doing something like the Arizona trail, I'm not fucking around with cougars) and a better sleeping bag since my current one is bulky and shit.
