It's a gimmick. It'll work for a few hours then burn out. And by "work" I mean only "the fans will turn." The fans won't actually keep you cool.

On top of that, it's a complicated contraption that could fail and not be repairable while innawoods.

Well the entire point is it just makes your natural sweat evaporate as if you were nude and in the wind.

Also could hook it to solar panels and it's literally just a fan. Not much would really go wrong.

it's like one of those dinosaur suits but more normal looking. Looks kinda puffed up on the dude in the picture, i bet it would look weird in person, but if it actually moves air and prevents sweat thats cool,

I'd much rather have something like this in between my backpack / straps and my shirt so that I don't have that sweat pattern going on back there and over my shoulders...would be cool if Osprey added an active cooling option to the airscape panels with a little replaceable airpump as an addon.

So a tip from a tradesperson, when working outdoors and when you start to sweat a lot? A leaf blower nozzle shoved into a front pant pocket. Will cool your junk off without looking like you are aiming a leaf blower at your dick.
Other tips include thin material, long sleeved shirts and bandanas. Anything that wicks moisture and is exposed to moving air will contribute to cooling.
My other tip is to take breaks in the shade. My boss recognized my Hispanic heritage because I would take my water breaks or breathers in the shade. He said the only people he saw do that naturally were Mexican nationals he worked with in Texas. The gringos just relied on their hats for shade. The Hispanics would be out of sunlight like they were vampires.
Last but not least, hydration is more than just water. A proper balance of different electrolytes with water intake will benefit you long and short term. Cramps when doing something and cramps after doing something are different levels of disabling. Having someone else pry your cramped shut fingers off of a rope is one thing. Waking up in the middle of the night with a cramp along the length of one of your legs? Way worse in my own opinion.

As others have pointed out, it seems prone to failure and likely needs a lot of maintenance and upkeep, like charging it. Doesn't really seem made for nature anyway, the backdrop of the image is a construction site. Seems like it has more utility for working outside than going /out/side.
