Story time /out/
It was a birth right trip, and we had this tour guide who rushed us around and he didn't give a disclaimer that it's literally over 45 minutes long and there is no light and that if you're claustrophobic it's absolutely terrible.
We also weren't warned about how deep the water was, so several people's electronics got wet (I solved that problem too with dried rice, how the fuck a group of 40 and I'm the only one who knows that shit is beyond me....).
So basically, we get there the whole group is running on quite literally 2 hours of sleep on a bus and we're all freaking exhausted and getting rushed through the old city of Jerusalem and many of us (all) are so hung over we just don't give a shit. So we get in the caves and we immediately realize the hellish nightmare awaiting us in these old tunnels (sanctums of death).
It's fucking tight, can't turn around, single file, wet, dark, cold. We were all sketched the fuck out. We all kept telling the people that hated it (It's just up there, we're fine!) (Which was half true...it wasn't just up there, but they were fine obviously).
We were singing camp fire songs (don't really know how better to describe this) and just generally having a great time (well some of us). This kid Dan was a god damn hippy kept yelling "POP MOLLY IM SWEAT'N! WOO!" I'll never forget that goofy kid. So we're like 30 minutes in and the girl directly in front of me was having a literal panic attack (are 25 year old women girls?). Thankfully, my GS3 phone has an amazing light so I handed her it and she ended up basically clinging to my wrist the entire time as I walked her through breathing exercises.
>TFW I've worked at a place with "indoor caves" for 5 years and knew EXACTLY how to deal with with the situation. /story
