I'm currently on a long hike through lower Minnesota and there's supposed to be a thunderstorm in a couple days. I've dealt with heavy rain before, but I'm only now realizing I've never encountered lightning while backpacking. Does anyone have any experience with dealing with lightning in flat-as-fuck areas?
