Sandalanon here from two weeks prior.
For short hikes (10-30 km) it was perfect.
The moment I stepped past 40k, the back of my left heel (where one of the straps is) decided to part ways with the skin on it and rub whatever it found underneath for the next 4-5 km - where we found a place to wash off the dirt and apply some patches on.
Luckily there were no pain receptors there, but it still looked ugly.
A couple of blisters also came on, due to the heat and sand, but nothing overly serious.
Next time I'll apply sealskin beforehand.
First day: 56 km
Second: 38 km
Third: 17 km.
If not for the heat, we might have made it in two days. (31-35 °C was the daytime average)
Thanks for those who replied to the last thread!
