I came across 3 young foxes a few days ago, they had either never seen a human or had seen quite a few humans because they didn't run from me unless I got within petting range.

If you're a 19th century estate owner.

It's illegal to hunt them here actually, so they can't be much of a problem. They just want to live in their little cave and be left alone to go out at night time.

My reference is American badgers. So yeah. They can be beneficial to a farmer in that they kill lots of vermin like prairie dogs. But they also have a bad habit of tearing up fields, even in places where I can't find anything they could have been trying to eat. They sometimes just dig a pit and it ends snaping your neck around when you run through the pits in your swather.
They also seem to aggravate my bees. They haven't damaged any of my colonies yet. But whenever i find one has been hanging around them, they are really aggressive.
Overall, I'm pro badger. Because one time I was talking to this chick who worked for the DWR in my state and she told me she packed a gun around in her truck to shoot badgers who were near prairie dog colonies. I inwardly thought "those prairie dogs deserve a bullet and so do you"
And now I have a kinship with my fellow enemy of the state.

I'm not invested in which one is better. But in a fight an American badger would win 8/10 times.
European badgers do look cleaner and more dignified though. But there is a certain endearing ugliness to the American badger

I agree, European badger looks like it would invite you over for a cup of tea and American badger looks like it would rob you in a dark alley. They are still cute because of their ugliness, you are right.

Running across a fox is always a joy. See them very rarely in recent years. Yotes ate them all I think.
I also like yotes, free birds much respect, not a farmer so don't care about livestock.

this guy spooked me the fuck up in the middle of the trail. I didnt even knew they existed in my area, because our common snakes are tiny (black and 20cm long) so that one probably fell of a tree. He eventually left before I could take a picture sadly but it was nice nonetheless.
