Does anyone else use a wheelbarrow when going /out/?


Me and a friend went out before this Christmas and was caught us by surprise by the darkness, about ten kilometers from our homes and anything other than remote roads. Luckily we had a wheelbarrow with our tools in it with us and managed to start a small fire by lighting the wooden shafts of the axes, the rubber from the wheels of the wheelbarrow and an extra pair of gloves we had. It burned hot enough for us to not have to worry about getting freeze related injuries until we got picked up. I've since brought my wheelbarrow on several trips.

You can load it full of gear that'd be way too heavy for you to carry, plus you can actually make a fire inside it. Best of all is you can relocate the fire, which comes in handy if it's hard to find firewood in the area.
