You need to learn to run without slamming your heel into the ground. That force goes straight into your knees and if you havnt been running track since grade school it will lead to knee trouble later in life.
So the No drop thin sole shoe is excellent for knee health IF you walk properly on the ball of the foot. Then you absorb shock through the motion of the foot instead of letting your knee grind itself to nothing.
The flip side is stopping in these types of shoes has the exact same response and the lack of padding means your knees take the force when stopping.
I have found that you need to accept that Nike has the best shoes for running.
If you want a free flowing foot movement you need Nike Free Run.
They have the padding for braking but allow the foot to move naturally so you aren’t forced to run on your heel. And they go on sale for $35 or so
