>>2630720>cheaper than fengs on amazonSounds like 700/800MHz radios
I'm sorry anon but you really, really can not use that shit anywhere on any frequency.
>Why?Because the 700-800MHz band is 100% solely reserved for US Federal and emergency communication use. They actively monitor that shit, like a lot, and they actually do take care of intruders on that band.
A lot guys are shitting on ham fags whining about using Baofengs unlicensed on ham, GMRS and FRS frequencies, but the thing is that the FCC actually doesn't give a shit about that.
If you start fucking around on 700/800MHz with surplus equipment you're in for a world of trouble. The only good use for buying 700/800 equipment is for the chargers and for their parts such as the housing, keypads and LCD's to repair other VHF/UHF radios
I'm not joking anon. Fucking with boomer hams you can get away with easily.
Federal.gov does not take kindly to intruders on their frequency bands though
>How tf do I program them or make them talk to each other? If they are 700/800 really don't even bother, I'm sorry anon. There is not a single frequency you can use them on without serious risk of someone knocking on your door.
If they are VHF or UHF -->
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=utqCPtMGnkUYou can find the programming software online
You will need to find a frequency to use, such as (paid) business itinerant frequencies on VHF or GMRS frequencies on UHF, which you may or may not be allowed to use depending on where you live (I'm not a burger). Depending on what kind of option board is in your radio, they may be capable of AES-256 encryption as well. You'll need extra hardware (keyloader) for it is pretty fun knowing nobody can listen in. They can track you down though using signal triangulation, but that is true for any kind of radio signal
EFJ5100 are great radios, extremely sturdy, I'm not shitting on them. I'm just worried you bought unusable equipment. it also happens alot with XTS5000s being sold for 700/800
