Can you parachute off the top of K2 and Everest?

That would make short work of descending. Think of how epic that would be. A quick way for those who are struggling to return to base camp.

You might be able to paraglide off, but I suspect the air is to thin for that.

You'd need something like a rocket pack to push you up and off the peak to get to a point where you'd clear the mountain on the way down, which would be heavy and dangerous in addition to the 'shoot weight, and the other gear you'd normally take to get up there.

you could potentially paraglide off, but given that there probably aren't that many suitable sites to start, you are heavily dependant on weather conditions and most likely will need to bail when conditions are bad and paragliding off that thing is still probably super risky even in good conditions, carrying a 3kg chute up the mountain does seem like a bad deal. probably better off carrying more supplies with you
