I use an adapter from aliexpress (similar to that one in the picture) to refill 100g cans (that suit me for short trips) from 450g cans.
Firstly, always weight a full can and write its weight on the can with a permanent marker, both to know how much gas is left and how much you can add.
If you did not do this, usually the manufacturer of the can advertises the weight of a full can.
Don't overfill the can, or else with a bit of heat (e.g., sun) the pressure can rise too far and the can will get damaged and start leaking permanently.
Also, don't use the normal kitchen 20lb gas tanks – the mix in there fails to work /out/ – and not only when it's colder than room temperature, but also because the temperature of the small can drops substantially when the gas evaporates from it.

They're cool, but I use that kind of stove only in winter, when there's no other option viable.
