The best pro tips:

- Carry a stick to wave in front of you so you don't walk into spiders

- Wear hiking boots not trail shoes because the ankle support is necessary off trail so you don't roll your ankle

- If you can't put your tent pegs in the ground because it's too hard beyond a certain distance, put some cordage in your eyelet of your tent and tie that cordage to a nearby tree

- Camp under small trees like these pines. They'll provide excellent cover so you're concealed but if they fall, and they won't because they're young and healthy, you may be able to push them off you and your tent.

- You can live and hide in a forest more or less indefinitely no bigger than say 1km * 5km as long as you're off trail. Eventually there is a chance a kangaroo culler will find you, but unlikely if you're hidden like pictured, surrounded by young pine
