the few who do know jack shit are far more specialized than "survival" channels. i could give you at least 5 or 10 good cave diving channels but i can't name a single "survival" channel worth a shit.
even if they did know anything chances are their knowledge is adapted to a completely different environment than you spend your time in.
go outside, get experience, and read books.
