I'm currently reading a thousand mile walk, John Muir was so goddamn based.
The chapter he talks about sleeping in the graveyard is king shit.

Pic related, my lady reading Muir in the backcountry.
In Travels in Alaska, the first thing he does when he showed up in a podunk village was go out in a rainstorm and build a huge bonfire. It freaked out the locals, they thought the world was ending, or it was a volcano, they started praying and carrying on, rousted the local priest out of bed. Made me lol, it was just Muir enjoying the storm but he caused a stir.
