The weather is one of the most simple, present, interesting phenomenons to talk casually about. There's a lot of depth to the behavior of the weather and how it is varying year to year. Big Fan of Orographic lift, Chinook and Katabatic winds, Rain Shadows etc. I love how air masses interact with land mass. Big fan of watching rain gauges and river levels during weather events too. I get real autistic in a big storm and constantly watch all the regional rain guages/river levels/radars etc (there is a lot of data in NZ so I'm blessed) and pretend I can predict when a surge is coming through. Good times man.
