Total orchard count is up to 10 trees. First use of the land since mammoths walked on it. Soil needs lots of ammendment. It is like concrete. Compost and a Pickaxe.

This one is an Apricot. I think we have one other apricot that survived the heat, drought and plague of locusts. we will buy another 3 next spring and try again. it has been a rough year to start a new homestead.

garden was a total bust this year. we will spend winter working the soil and amending with compost. hopefully, it will be enough to produce next spring.

at least our livestock situation has been more successful. guess it will be a protein heavy winter. Prepping the sheep for fall breeding now.
