Red pill me on living in a sedan.

I’ve camped in it up north before and I enjoyed it. I have grown very unhappy with typical conforming. I hate my job, I hate renting a room I never see because I work so many hours, I can’t afford anything, I hate people and how fake and suffocating everyone is. I honestly think living in my car will finally give me the peace and freedom I’ve been searching for.

I would also like to travel US and explore hiking trails and enjoy /out/door living.

Does anyone have advice on being stealthy and efficient?

Ive been looking at trucks with campers though so I atleast have a bed/toilet/stove. Ive got 100k saved and want to find something cheap so Ive got plenty of years to lay in quiet and do nothing before I do what this >>2640567 anon recommends when the cash runs out

i'd recommend you try and do it for 2 or 3 weeks before you commit to it long term. It's not near as glamorous as youtube and insta make it seem, and it's surprisingly expensive with the consumables you use.

1. sell car
2. buy van or large SUV

Having window coverings in the back and a place to lay flat is key for being successful any length of time. it's ideal to be able to stand up in the van but it's a nice to have not a must. having separate spaces for storage, cooking, somewhere to sit (captains chair) is a must. being able to have the drivers seat appear empty while you're sleeping is a must. I've known 100s of people who have lived out of their vehicles and exactly zero have done so out anything smaller than a full size SUV by choice.

I'd try to follow the weather, you don't want to be up north when it's -40 out living in an uninsulated car. get a stove and propane to heat water, battery bank, water storage at least 2-3 gallons, hygiene station with tooth brush. keep lots of wet wipes and alcohol handy for whore baths. try and keep yourself clean, people are a lot nicer to you when you don't strongly reek of shit and look like a homeless drug addict.

There are lots of good one, yukon, explorer, tahoe, suburbon, navigator, some jeeps, infinity QX80, escalade, but the major consideration is being able to lay down flat while in the back without people seeing you from the drivers window. before you pick one find out how hard it is to take the seats out.

Yeah no, these YouTubers are glamorizing being homeless. There are a host of health problems living in a car that nobody talks about. You need to be in an environment where you can crack the windows to get oxygen, otherwise you will get CO2 poisoning. Sleeping properly will be a challenge and if not done correctly will lead to blood clots. Basic conveniences like taking a shit are out of the window. You won’t even be able to have running water to bathe or clean shit with. Laundry? Enjoy spending $5 every week on a laundromat. And the list piles up. Find room mates if the situation is that dire.

not op, but i'm 28 years old and never had a gf or any romantic connection. i'm not homeless or anything, just awkward and i think about this all the time. i dont know what i'd do if i end up without wife and kids. i wish god made me normal instead of this autistic shit but it is what it is. all i can do is make sure my parents will be well-off and taken care of if/when i'm unable to go on.

Another option could be just go to a cheap country and rent a simple apartment. Then you'd at least have the basics and you'd be able to stretch out your savings

There is 1001 other reason why living out of your car is a terrible fucking idea and is legit classified as homeless. Not only will it slowly crush your soul, but you will start in on a path of mental anguish it will take years to get out of. It's fucking terrible. OP, you're literally asking people to convince you to be homeless. The only exception, and I mean only, is if you have 100,000 USD and can get a nice rig and not have to worry about anything. Everything else you're just fucking homeless living in borderline destitute.

I cannot redpill you on living in a sedan –no such redpill exists (assuming you live in the states). These days SUVs cost the same, get similar mpg to sedans especially at the lower-end, and are way more comfortable to drive. If you're going to be living out of your car, you should trade in for something with more interior space.
