Now you can find a sheep tarp and a bug net for well under $100. Prior to all of this dirt cheap gear you had to either make your own, wait for a sale that might never come, or hope you could find something used.

Nearly everything else is incidental; stuff you probably have, could go without, or could go very cheap/disposable. If someone is poor they can take a $1 disposable poncho and maybe be ok this one time, sort of. Wear whatever knock around shoes they have. They probably own gym clothes.
