“I don’t mind the extra weight” is a valid argument when there’s a legitimate advantage to one item versus another. However, “you’re weak” isn’t an argument.
The former stands on its own, as there are a variety of different reasons to bring heavier gear. It’s all opinion, but valid. The prime example is a steak for dinner instead of something that only requires boiling water. A camp chair’s another popular one (though it could be argued that you’re a pussy ass bitch for not being able to just sit on the ground, but let’s stay focused). “I like a steel water bottle because it won’t give me Alzheimer’s and it won’t break” is retarded, but still a valid opinion (muh durability).
Claiming someone’s weak just exposes yourself as never having gone on a long hike. Even literal children learn that hiking’s more enjoyable with a lighter pack. No matter how strong you claim to be (no one here has ever posted physique, ever), hiking will still be more enjoyable with a lighter pack.
Also someone will invariably think people lighten their packs to hike faster. I wish I was joking.
