>>2649924I had extreme social anxiety in my younger years, and as an escape, I used to try to find the most inhospitable places to camp that I could possibly find, as far away from humans as possible. I spent maybe hundreds of nights purposely camping in the wilderness, where no human would ever resonably want to go. And other than my imagination trying to tell me that there were strange creatures in the night, the strangest things that ever happened were that two people who were probably lost in the middle of the night walked within 50 metres of my camp down the hill and across the river in the valley below. They seemed to be milling about with head torches above my camp for some time; I think they were probbably examining a map; I dont know. Other than that, the standard fox's screaming during the darkest hours of the night, Sheep sleeping near my tent, and one time at night, I heard what sounded like someone being chased through the trees below my camp. The footsteps went through the leavs from left to right about 100 metres, then back again in the opposite direction, pretty creepy. I jumped out of my tent and shone my flashlight below, and it turned out to just be two cute badgers chasing each other through the leaves.
TLDR, you are the creepiest thing in the woods at night.
