Do you actually leave a note on your dashboard at the parking area if you are going for an overnight in a wilderness area with no logbook or trails?

I just wanna go chill in the desert for a few days and read, but I dont wanna tell my friends or family my location

But I also feel like leaving a note on the dash saying I wont be back for a few days would tempt some mexican to break into my car

You could write notes in another language. Do it in one that is sufficiently foreign that it won't be cracked by a Mexican passerby. I know several ancient languages. I think the languages will have a deterring, magical effect, "what's this spooky language," which will deter people from messing with my car. If someone suspects an issue, they can put it into Google translate.
However, this approach is just as bad as leaving no note or relying on a log book. The best thing to do is to find some stranger on the internet or in your town. Come to an arrangement where they will notify friends and family or authorities if they don't hear from you for a few days. If you make jams and preserves, you can give a jar to your local stranger guardian angel for their trouble.

I have a Email with my trip/area/activities and how I will behave in emergency in a email ready to go that's on send on date X timer. ( you can schedule emails with Google for example)

It's a basic " the trip was planned to go on for 4 days. I want to off-road from the I -95 on GPS point X towards fag Peak. There I plan to make a hike to the Swinger bear cave and the moist chasm campground (GPS data) depending on the weather alternative activities are xzy. Planned return date was the 12.12.2012.
I drive a old beaten up White van with free candy written on the side. I will be wearing flips Flops jeans and a wool cloak. I'm 250 pounds and fitfat. If lost or injured I will shelter in place for at first then move down river towards the Mexican boarder. I will leave behind arrows and cairns as track marks"

But I have left my plans at Rangerstation in the past and if the parking spot has a low browns or meth risk I leave the date paper on the dash.

No, but I left a box of .30-30 shells on my dash once, and it almost caused me big problems with a game janny almost freezing to death trying to track me down

anyone who wants to break in your car isn't going to be influenced by a note. if you care about that put your shit in the spare tire well and leave your glove box and center console open empty. beginner hiker 101 stuff.
but if you get lost or injured you will immediately realize how stupid your decision to not let anyone know where you are was.
if its legal land to hunt on and in season the anon who said to put "hunting nearby" actually goes outside that's good advice.

I occasionally metal detect the woods in not so good areas. I make sure to leave a note in my window that says “walking dogs, back soon.” Might deter certain people that happen to be afraid of dogs. Haven’t had a problem with any break ins yet.
