Does anyone have tips/suggestions for motorcycle overlanding and camping? I figured /out/ would have much more experience than /o/ for a question primarily about the camping aspect of motorcycle traveling. I'm trying to make a gear checklist while also keeping things as light as possible. I have a tank bag for on the road snacks, a cup holder for a flip-top bottle that can be opened with one hand, Feathered Friends Flicker 40 sleeping bag, I still need a tent/canopy or some form of portable shelter, and then the basic hygiene/clothing necessities I already have. I also have a spare gas tank but I might upgrade to something bigger.
This thread is mostly what /out/ thinks I'll need for a lightweight, on and offroad motorcycle setup. It will be during mid-late fall from Nevada to Texas, and I'll be avoiding stopping in snowy areas or areas that get extremely cold. Worst case scenario a motel isn't out of the picture.
