Hyper-Oxygenation

No.2656013 View ViewReplyOriginalReport
Learned a very cool technique in dive school that is 100% guaranteed to increase the amount of time you can hold your breath. It's so simple and effective that (You) can do it right now sitting at your computer.

First. I want you to get your phone, pull up the stop watch and time yourself holding your breath for as long as you can. Then, take a moment to catch your breath and apply the following breathing technique which will hyper-oxygenate your blood. Your blood's sole purpose is to transport oxygen throughout your body. By hyper-oxygenating it, you will increase your blood's efficiency at doing just that.

Breathe in deep through your nose until your lungs can no longer hold any more oxygen. Quickly, and with a very short exhalation, breathe out through your mouth with one single, short, breath and IMMEDIATELY take another deep breath through your nose until your lungs are once again at capacity. Once they're full, quickly exhale through your mouth again and repeat the process. Take about half a dozen deep breaths in through your nose and quick bursts of exhalation through your mouth. Once you've taken your final deep breath, hold it and start the stopwatch. You will be amazed at how much longer you can go without the need for breathing.

This is an incredibly useful and life-saving technique for anyone who ever finds themself in a situation where oxygen is not freely available. Your car goes off a bridge into a lake, your house catches on fire and is filled with smoke, etc etc.

If you tried this technique, feel free to post your original time without hyper-oxygenation and your second time with hyper-oxygenation.
