>>2678576the anglo definition of "camping" is completely confusing and that word should be banned from this site.
if i go hiking a mountain and it requires me sleeping a night or 7 in a tent im not camping im hiking.
if i spend a weekend fishing in a mountain lake and bring a tent to spend two nights there im not camping im fishing, the same with a canoe down a river im canoeing and/or fishing from my canoe, im not camping.
if i spend two weeks driving as far as i can taking every single gravel road, mountain pass or whatever to see as much as i possible with my car and whatever sleeping arrangement im still not camping, im *verlanding (i hate the current reddit/instagram meaning of that word thats not true to its real meaning)
when i am camping i go to a specific campsite to stay there, only there and do nothing else than enjoy the stay there with other campers. completely irrelevant how i get there or how i sleep, its the camping that is the whole purpose of if and why i do it.
