>>2658162I feel you, my wife has had it with city life up to here and wants the same. Barking dogs, trashy 3rd world neighbors, crime and filth.
She also likes to go to the grocery store every day and be near the kids, she has no idea what it's really like out there.
Many times it leads to boredom, infidelity with the neighbors, and killing your wallet with the cost of fuel from going forth and back. I tell her over and over to enjoy life now because it will never get any easier than living in this disgusting metropolis full of democrat swine.
Don't mean to discourage you, just listing some of the things she might need to be reminded of.
On the other hand, you may find awesome new friends and get fitter than you ever thought possible. Peace and contentment come from within- you know all this, don't mean to be preachy or condescending. I find it easier to concentrate in the quiet woods and introspection is underrated. As is walking, pretty sure humans think better when they walk and just imagine being able to go for a walk without Tyrone and Shaqueefa ooga boogaing at you.
Idk the climate you're headed for but another huge benefit can be resting in the winter after you've hammered the honeydo list all spring summer and fall. The wood stove making pleasant crackling noises while fresh cornbread makes the house smell like heaven, having the time to watch the snow fly while you're warm and comfy. Shooting cans with a bb gun off the porch, riding dirt bikes with the boys. Man it never ends, I had more fun than any man deserves living in the sticks.
It was the need for more money that finally drove me back into metro hell.
You take the shit with the sugar, I find living rural infinitely sweeter than the other thing.
It's all mindset, if you go in meaning to make the best of it you'll do fine. You can always retreat to the city, it will still be there.
