Directly moulded sole makes the boot unresolable, the sole itself might be prone to separation, the shock absorbing element might degrade significantly over time on its own, the outsole is thin, there is a seam where toes meet the rest of the foot which is a stress point.

I bought a pair of Grisport peaklander boots about ten years ago.
I've always been very hard on boots and they tend to break after a year or so, I also wear them all the time, not just hiking.
Anyway the peaklanders lasted me about 3 years and I've bought them twice since.
I've never had to break them in and can put on a brand new pair and go for a day long hike with no issue, I have a very high instep so usually new boots would take a while to get comfortable in.
I had a pair of Meindl boots a few years ago and tried to break them in many times but they never got comfortable.

Bought a pair of their thunder trekking boots at the start of September and wore them for four days walking around Olympus in Greece and they were great.

I have a pair of Gamekeepers for work and they are very good, especially for what they cost. The only downside is that I think their boots are ugly compared to brands like Meindl and Altberg.
