Can I get some fishing help? All the lakes around me look like this. I don't have a boat. The common species of fish are bass, catfish, and carp. How am I supposed to catch anything without a boat?

You can catch all of those from the shore. Get a map of lake, preferably one showing depth snd water features. Look for points and places where the drop off is close to shore. Fish those areas at dawn and dusk.

It's a dam yeah? so check old topographic maps of the place and see where outcrops might be for fishes to live in. Also places where streams flow into the lake, trout will live there if there is trout.

People on shore always cast as far into the lake as they can.

People on a boat always cast as close to shore as they can.

this. Any feature like steep banks or under water fallen trees or any surface cover like lily pads. They like to cover then come out and feed. You can crank a bass plug pretty far out from shore.
