I know there are always knife threads posted here in /out/ but for some reason I never see anyone post or mention Swiss army knives. As an Eagle Scout I obviously have had more exposure to using the knife than others but I feel that it is one of the best knives for the /out/doors and even around the house for all sorts of uses. Now i'm sure there are plenty of other good quality knives out there (leather mans) that get the job done or are better suited to certain tasks yet I never see anyone mention this wonderful knife on here, yet silly and over sized fold out blades are abundant. Why /out/ ?

Also what is your favorite type of Swiss army knife? Pic related mine has always been the climber.
