But if some consideration is taken into account about how people feel about the small details, the overall result can be great.
For example, there are lots of talk about green cities in some circles and about better farming methods. But almost all of it is based only on efficiency. Most of the time, the people making these plans don't even think about how to include as much people as possible by appealing to peoples tastes and needs and wants. Instead of crunching numbers about how many ferns you can stack on a building, maybe they could've done some survey about what kind of small plants people will keep by themselves. Then help the local populace plant or maintain whatever they wanted as long as it helped reach some sort of viable goal.
The people making decisions are detatched from reality. And the poor fucks tasked with realizing those decisions have to make changes to initial plans until it's all just a mess.
