>>2672430Well it's just got this reclaimed vibe to everything. Wholesome things like the swimming pool is a breeding ground for tadpoles just like an elementary school textbook. And various happy wildlife roaming through the old roads, white tail, foxes, bunnies and mice.
But it's been sitting for a long time. There's the directors cabin with every piece of glass kicked in, and some truly wacky graffiti on the inside. Most of it is obviously high schoolers (I was one of them) but there's some weird symbology to the rest of it. My guess is someone decided to trip out, or some bum was tweaking but it's full of eyes, specials, endlessly repeating hatch marks. Nothing weird outright but it's repeated so much that it's freaky. A high schooler would just make some penises and dip, right?
There's another bad room full of old taxidermied birds. It's in a back corner, I actually missed it many times when I first found the place. The birds are really poorly made, and also half consumed by rodents. This room is about as big as a studio apt, it reeks to hell from I don't know what. Not just mouse poop, I guess the knawed on feathers rotted? It's kinda smells like the inside of a chicken or deer freshly gutted, and it always stinks in there.
It's a camp so of course there's tons of cute camp things, lean tos and lunch spots and pavilions. All spaces designed to be habituated in. So at night it's really unsettling pacing by all these dark buildings. You know there's nothing inside, but you can see it. And I've been in most of the buildings so I know there's tons of spots to hide even if I could see inside. It's not smart to stay in the middle of the paths at night. The camp is big and therea plenty of reminders that you aren't the only one who knows about the place
I dunno I don't think it's haunted or anything, it's just got some real vibes. It's been abandoned for a loooong time, just so many clues of life. Maybe it all just adds up.
