>>2675836You are retarded. The ranger or tibet is not a 'better boot', they are meant for entirely different terrains.
The renegade has an A/B type sole, which is ideal for hilly terrain. Only if you are going into mountainous terrain or high alpine you should be looking at stiffer soles. The ranger has B type soles, Tibet B/C type.
If you ever saw tried A/B type next to a true B type, and try to flex the sole you would notice the huge difference.
Speaking about, if you are only going to walk flat terrain without heavy loads, go for regular trainers. Cheaper, better for your feet and more comfortable.
On flat terrain you want a soft sole to conform and help with natural human walking gait (our feet are supposed to flex when walking). But the more mountainous terrain, the more stiffness you want for support (in addition to ankle support, the option to attach campons etc).
tl;dr the ranger or tibet is meant for a different type of terrain, not to last longer or be a 'better' boot. Buy the type of boot for the terrain you plan on traversing.
Seeing OPs requirements, A/B sole hiking shoes are perfect, perhaps can consider other brands like meindl (vakuum ultra has similar fit) , altberg or hanwag.
What is most important is how they fit. Just go to a decent outdoor shop, and ask for fitment, they would be glad to help. A top dollar shoe from a top dollar brand with bad fit, is going to be worse than a well fitting budget shoe.
