>>2677270You’re right about freedom. For a little over two years, I went on backpacking trips exclusively with groups (ranging from just two of us to seven people). In a group you have to compromise on basic logistics: how long to rest during breaks, where to camp, when to eat, which route to take, when to get in the road and drive there… It’s always slower to get going too, as one person needs longer rests or takes a while to get packed in the morning. Not everyone’s on the same pee schedule. Not everyone walks at the same speed. And yeah, not everyone wants to explore down that game trail or up that creek bed.
