I have personally visited several “theocratic Muslim kingdoms” as you put it. Not once have I encountered anti-American sentiment. People who are governed by autocratic regimes have the unique ability to separate a people from their government. I.e. they are capable of resenting George Bush without resenting Americans. The scimitar-wielding Arab of your nightmares does not exist. Please put aside your main character syndrome.
