Yes, unless there's tree or cloud cover. In desert, I wear long sleeves, hat, bandana on my neck, and sunglasses. When hiking I even take a sun umbrella to prevent overheating.

It’s not hot and humid 100% of the time, just most of the time. So I’ve gotten accustomed to just using the umbrella. I think this was a long road walk between trails. It may have been a Big Bend trip as well, or during a typical late spring weather pattern; I’m really not sure.

Unironically though, you really don't like the feel of gym shorts? I find they to be supremely comfortable but desu I am not so sensitive that I think about the material. Only reason it's synthetic is for the performance properties.

I have champion brand cotton gym shorts that I wear around the house freeballing. I don't like wearing the plastic gym shorts without cotton underwear. I just would never wear a fuking plastic base layer tee shirt they feel horrible

Zonafag here. I have a cape hat similar to this. Long sleeves even when it's hot. The sun destroys anything left outside. Most plastic and synthetic cloth disintegrates in one summer.

I was only on holiday unfortunately. I’ve got pasty white skin for surviving in bongland so when I go to the mountains the uv cooks me alive. I was /out/ every day for about a month without anywhere to shower on that trip so I had to do something to stop me frying. Sunscreen just runs off when you’re sweating and also when you’re washing in streams and stuff it’s pretty shitty for the environment. Looking through the old photos again now, gawd I cannot wait to go back

I also live in a very hot and humid environment. I wear long pants and long shirts every day out of the year. Sun protection isn't layers. It's one layer that covers your skin. It's not that bad. I also wear cotton everything in the summer except my socks. I wear wool socks year round.

I have a telescope mount on a steel pier. Instead of a canvas grill cover, I keep it covered with an inverted stainless steel pot. After replacing my clothes line annually for a few years, I switched to stainless cable.
