Is anyone else going /out/ this weekend during the arctic blast? Its going to be 8 degrees and snowing here i want to go innawoods but kinda worried i might actually freeze to death as ive never camped that cold before

Unfortunately I live in Southern Ontario so we will only be getting mildly cold weather (-16 C/ windchill -25 C). But compared to how this winter has gone so far, it's definitely going to be a nice change and I won't be missing the opportunity to test out all my cozy winter gear.

Its gonna be -25°f tomorrow night. I think I will stay inside. It was -45f last winter so this wont be that bad.

At a certain temp I simply cant afford the extra insulation. ECW sleeping bags are goddamn expensive. Been ski bumming in my truck with my supposedly 0 degree bag and once it hit sub 20s at around 4 am it started to creep in. Getting out to piss wasnt too fun either. Iced up windows made a nice privacy curtain though

Ohio here, i used a -10 rated sleeping bag, a shit tent, wool blanket, and a tarp wrapped around the sleeping bag to keep out moisture so i wouldnt get wet. Slept in all my clothes but was comfy. Wrap some plastic bags around your feet to make sure they stay dry, i didnt have boots that covered my ankles so i walked around like that (fuck steel toes in the cold)
