I'd give your chain a good sharpen, smaller teeth can have trouble cutting if they're not in good condition and it's possible you might have hit a stone or it could have dulled going through mud or earth on a tree. Remember to check the raker when you sharpen it, this is also vital to having your saw cut well and you need to stay on top of it. If you;re not sure about doing it just punch it into youtube and there will be plenty videos of it. Wranglerstar has a very good one.
Secondly as you cut make sure you're giving the saw time to clear all the dust and shit out of the cut. Just take it nice and easy and use the dogs (the spikey bits at the base of the bar) for a bit of extra stability.
I'd check the bar over as well just to make sure it's getting enough lube and that it hasn't become damaged or anything.
